because in the end this is more about the two men running, though the context, as carl points out, is correct. the republicans in congress are unpopular but actually so are the democrats. here is my point. just as one video seemed to have been the game changer in this election, the 47%er, we still have three debates coming up, where if mitt romney was to do a turn around, he has a chance, starting tuesday -- starting october 3rd in denver, wednesday -- where he has, i think, some of the few chances left to try and figure out a way to turn this around. to explain if there is an explanation for what he really want wants to do that will be more inclusive than that video sent. he has a few chances left if trend is against him but i'm not ready to call it yet. >> i have to say, it does seem over the last 24, 48 hours they do some very specific thing. he's getting out there more. he's been doing a ton of interviews. after all, the criticism early on that he was never there to be interviewed. let me play a little clip from yesterday. >> throughout this campailmpaig well. don't forget, i

's bring in fox news analyst carl rove who joins us tonight from washington. let's take ohio and florida first. do you believe the polling today? >> no, i don't. and for a very good reason. let's take florida first. got the white board for you. little bit of context here. the biggest poll that we -- the most important thing about a poll is its partisan matrix. the division between republicans, democrats and independents. the biggest poll that we have to understand what the partisan matrix is about are the exit polls. in 2008, florida had three points more democrats than republicans. and in 2004, it had 4 points less democrats than republicans. more republicans than democrats voted in 2004. in 2 point damage to the democrats. the cbs "new york times" poll has 9 points more democrats than republicans. do we really think that the democrat margin over republicans in florida is going to be three times what it was in 2008? that is to say the democrats are that much more wired up? no that's not going to happen. >> wait. let me answer. so the logical question is and the "new york times" didn't h

're going to turn to washington and democratic strategist carl frish and michelle bernard. welcome back to both of you. >> thanks governor. carl, do you think that mitt's speech did anything last night to win over the target of former obama voters and what did you think of the speech? >> well, i think it was well written. it was poorly delivered. it was fun listening to pundits say this is the best speech mitt romney has ever given which is a remarkably low bar for mitt romney. so low even his grandkids couldn't go under it. it was nice to see him talk about his kids being curled up at the end of the foot of his bed and he longs for those times. it would be nice if he showed so much emotion and compassion for those families that have the kids at the end of the bed because they can't afford a bigger apartment. the policies that he articulated are for his type of families, not those families. it range hollow for me. i give it a seven out of 10 for mitt romney, but normal candidates, that's a three or four. >> i'm curious about this strategy to appeal to obama voters. >> right. >> and let
